How to file an RTI for delayed passport?

My passport application has been pending for 4 months. The passport office is not responding. Can I file RTI to know the status and force them to act?

Yes, you can file an RTI under Section 6 of the RTI Act, 2005 directly to the CPIO of your Regional Passport Office. Mention your application number and request the current status and any observations. The PIO must respond within 30 days. If no response, file a First Appeal immediately.
